A Fight to Survive TBI: The Story of David On the Road to Recover from Traumatic Brain Injury.
August 24, 2012 drastically changed my life. What happened that evening has left David in a vegetative coma and I am desperate to save my son’s life and future. David was pistol whipped, had his jaw broken and then his unconscious body was robbed. Though David regained consciousness, he was incoherent and rushed by ambulance to UMDNJ trauma center in Newark, New Jersey. It was there that he underwent emergency craniotomy surgery to alleviate the pressure from his swelling brain.
He is currently living in a sub-acute unit at a nursing home being fed via a gastric feeding tube. He is no longer entitled to physical therapy because he has shown no signs of progress. This means each day he lies in bed approximately 19 hours and sit in a wheelchair for 5 hours with no physical stimulation aside from being dressed and his diaper changed.
The importance behind physical therapy is that it will help him maintain his muscles and joints; to achieve his goal to attain flexibility, balance and coordination free from pain or suffering, so that he may lead a normal life again; performing all of his daily activities with minimal or no difficulty and without dependency. It can even help with his cardiopulmonary and neurological functions.
With prolonged treatment, it is possible for him to regain a large share, if not all of his mobility and it will improve his overall fitness and health.
David’s survival depends on continued physical and mental stimulation therapies which most insurances are not willing to fund long term. The lack of such treatment poses a direct threat to David’s ability to return to a life that extend beyond sitting in front of a television for hours on end in a nursing home. He deserves better.
His recovery is destined to be a long and arduous one, with no guarantees. But in order for him to have that chance, he needs, aside from a miracle, funds for aggressive physical therapy, a private neurologist and a specially designed vehicle for myself to accommodate his wheel chair.
Please join my family in our fight to get David the medical and physical treatment he needs. The amount we are now trying to raise is just the beginning for David and we could use your support. Thank you!
Please reblog, donate, and pray for David #teamwu

Feeling kind of proud tbh it’s nice and balanced.
So, what if Derek comes back and is all “Scott please let me be your Beta, being an Omega is the worst, I promise I will follow all your orders and be a good soldier, I swear I can follow directions please let me PLEASE.”
And Scott squints at him and says “All of my orders? Like, ALL of them?”
And Derek nods furiously.
"Okay. Go get a massage."
And Derek frowns and says “what, that’s stupid, what are you talking about,” and Scott says “YOU SAID YOU WOULD FOLLOW MY ORDERS NOW GO GET A MASSAGE” and flashes his red eyes. So Derek goes and gets a massage—probably at a kiosk place in the mall, so he doesn’t have to take off his shirt, but after going he actually feels really good and energized yet relaxed, and also proud of himself for following his Alpha’s orders.
At the next pack meeting, after telling everyone what sort of perimeter patrols they’d be doing for the rest of the week, Scott asks Derek to stay behind for a minute. “I need to know which Indian restaurant in town has the most delicious Chicken Korma. I need you to go eat at all of them over the next month and decide which one is the best.”
Derek blinks. He loves Chicken Korma. He had eaten almost all of it that one time Stiles had brought some to a stakeout, a long time ago. “I—fine. I could have it done by Saturday, if you want.”
Scott shakes his head. “No, you’ll get sick of it and then you won’t be able to rank the later places accurately. Just try a new place whenever you’re in the mood for Indian, and then rank them for me.”
"Do you just care about taste, or do you want me to include levels for service and price?"
"That’s a good idea," Scott says, nodding approvingly. "Yes, include whatever you think is important."
The next week, he’s paying the check at Cafe Tandoor when he gets a text from Scott. I need your help at work tomorrow it reads.
When Derek shows up, Scott directs him to a box full of puppies. “Someone brought in these strays last night, and they have really matted fur, so I need you to brush them. I’d do it, but I have to work on cleaning out the cages.”
Derek looks down at where the puppies are whining up at him, tumbling over each other in eagerness. “I could clean the cages, if you want.” It seems more fair for him to do the grosser job.
"No, Deaton has a whole method he likes me to use, and it would take forever for me to show you where everything is and what to do. It’s faster this way."
Derek sits down on the floor and begins carding through the smallest puppy’s fur. It squeaks in delight and nuzzles against his hand.
Posey & Dylan- Same shirt alert!
holy shit now I want a friendship college fic where Allison, Scott, and Stiles all share a cramped student apartment.
They wear each other’s clothes to the point that sometimes other supernaturals accidentally think Allison or Stiles are werewolves at first bc they smell so much like Scott.
They sprawl out on the couch to play video games and watch netflix shows, with Allison slouched down while Stiles’s head is in her lap and Scott is on the floor, back against the couch with his head occasionally leaning on her knee.
Stiles always puts the milk cartons back empty in the fridge which drives Allison nuts. Scott is perpetually denting the walls and cabinets when he accidentally bumps tuff with his werewolf elbows. They have cheap plastic ice trays bc their fridge is older than the first Clinton administration.
They have a dart board that Lydia painted to have Peter’s face on it.
why do almost all the supernatural/teen wolf crossovers involve spn characters meeting stiles like are u kidding me imagine how interesting it would be for the winchesters to meet scott “i have to protect everyone” mccall
dean and sam meeting a mere teenager who’s already the…
Does this not exist? Really? I was thinking about TW/Supernatural crossovers the other day so this revelation has actually made me glad I never went looking.
Scott McCall being a central figure in a Supernatural crossover is the only way I would possibly imagine it happening.
Seriously Teen Wolf fandom, I am disappoint.
Does Scott McCall ever just piss you off? Like, do you just want to punch him in the face? Especially Season 1 Scott?
Nope, never. I loved watching him struggle to overcome his perfectly normal teenage issues after being viciously thrown into a bizarre world…
I’m actually rewatching season one right now and I appreciate Scott/Allison a whole lot more than I did before :(
treat people like scott mccall would treat them
I wish people would treat Scott McCall the way Scott McCall would treat them
